Golden Guest Inn

While in Yangon, Myanmar, I stayed at the Golden Guest Inn on Insein Road. The inn is situated near the heart of the city. It is in walking distance to the Sky Mall which is a nice department and grocery store. It is right next to Cheers, a local barbeque restaurant and bar. The hosts are wonderful people and took very good care of me. The breakfast [included] is a dream. They have a deal with Leon's, local restaurant, to deliver food to the inn which only serves breakfast. The menu is at the front desk and they will call and order for you

Shwedagon Pagoda

We only got the grounds and exterior of the Shwedagon Pagodo. Didn't have time to go inside and missed the Buddha with the large diamond. Next time!

my tailor...in yangon

After complimenting my host's jacket, we went downtown to his tailor and had a jacket custom made. Since I was there for three weeks, they had plenty of time and didn't have to pay 'rush' fees. It took a week and came out great. Will wear it to the Oscar's Party this weekend and add a picture to this site later.

Shwe Maw Daw Pagoda

On daytrip to Bago outside of Rangon, we visited the Shwe Maw Daw Pagoda. This was smaller than the Swedagon Pagoda in Yangong but very interesting.

Pagoda of the Emerald Buddha

Short visit here to view the Buddha. Took a head-spinning day tour with guide Mickey. Only three days in Bangkok so didn't see much. Definitely return soon!
